Story

Made by the studio Ichimaruni in Osaka, the Mikawa Momen Trifold Toolbag is a unique tool-carrying bag that unfolds to reveal five inner pockets with ample storage and a zippered compartment for small items.

The inner pockets are made with durable, water-repellant canvas that softens with use, and the outer portion of the toolbag features an intricate Sashiko-ori weave in the Mikawa Momen style. In this traditional technique, pre-dyed yarn is woven into drawn thread to create a unique, textured cloth that boasts excellent durability and softness.

This versatile toolbag can be used not only as a holder for sewing notions or other crafting supplies, but also as a makeup bag, a clutch, or a space organizer.

The name "Ichimaruni" comes from the Japanese phrase "hito ni" (人に), meaning "for people." This idea inspired a wordplay that led to the number 102, read as "ichi-maru-ni."  
With the concept of "Bags for the People," Ichimaruni creates bags that naturally fit into the daily lives of those who carry them, valuing a gentle presence that emerges without being overbearing.

Handling Precautions

• Discoloration and color migration can be caused especially when wet.
• Storing in a hot and humid environment may cause mold and stains.
• For surface dirt, quickly wipe off with a lightly wet cloth or use a white eraser to remove it.
• For oil-based stains, such as handprints, scrub gently with a soft brush dipped in diluted neutral detergent.
• Avoid the use of agents such as bleach, thinner, benzene.
• Avoid the use of a dryer or iron.
• This product is made of paraffin coated canvas. When folded, the paraffin component breaks and whitens, and a line called a chalk mark appears on the surface.
• Paraffin-coated canvas has a hard texture and smells like candle wax at first, but the more it is used, the softer it becomes and the less it smells.
• It is ideal not to wash the product in order to maintain the paraffin coating for a long time. For general dirt, please hand wash gently. The texture and characteristics of the paraffin coating will be lost, but you will be able to enjoy the softer, comfortable feel of the canvas.
• The tag is made of genuine leather and therefore may stretch or shrink a little. Also wetting with water or sweat may cause color fading or stains.
• Keep out of reach of infants and young children.
