The Cohana Story, Vol.1: Celebrating 10 Years

Cohana was born in October 2016 and has been working alongside artisans and local industries across Japan ever since. This October marks 10 years since our journey began.

For the past ten years, Cohana has been creating beautifully crafted tools for handcrafting, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way.

Over the years, we've had the privilege of working with skilled artisans across Japan and learning from their exceptional craftsmanship and dedication. Guided by their expertise, we've taken great care to bring each Cohana tool to life.

Looking at the regions where our core collection items are made, we can see how our connections with craft communities across Japan have grown over the past ten years.

Including limited-edition and now-discontinued items, our journey has connected us with even more talented artisans across Japan, and we are truly grateful to have shared so many of their beautifully crafted tools into your hands over the years.

These four items have been part of Cohana’s collection since the very beginning. Ten years on, they remain just as popular as ever.

What began with just a handful of tools has grown into a collection enjoyed not only across Japan, but also by people around the world who share our love of handcrafting.

To date, we have shipped our tools to 74 countries around the world.
Knowing that, in faraway places shaped by different languages and cultures, someone is picking up a needle, sitting down with a piece of fabric, and enjoying a quiet, creative moment with Cohana by their side fills us with heartfelt gratitude.

We couldn’t have reached this milestone without you — everyone who has welcomed Cohana into your lives, chosen our tools as gifts for someone special, and shared your kind words and support with us.
