Cypress Pincushion

A Charming Round Pincushion Inspired by a Little Forest Nut 

Story

Crafted from fragrant hinoki cypress sourced from Japan's Kii Mountain Range, each wooden base is carefully shaped. The natural scent of the wood adds a pleasant touch to your sewing time. 

The pincushion is covered in Banshu-ori cotton fabric produced in the northern Harima region of Hyogo Prefecture. 
Banshu-ori fabrics are known for their natural texture, comfortable feel, and rich colors. 
The pincushion is made using sample fabrics created during the fabric development process. Materials that would otherwise go unused are given new life through upcycling. 

The pincushion is filled with rust-resistant stuffing to help keep your pins and needles in good condition. 

Thread a cord through the leather tag to wear it as a pendant or carry it with you.

Handling Precautions

Intended Use

• This product is intended for use as a pincushion for sewing pins and needles only. Do not use it for any other purpose.

Natural Wood Characteristics

• Due to the use of natural wood, variations in color and grain may occur.
• Storing in areas with high temperatures or humidity may cause the wooden base to crack or warp.
• Natural resin may occasionally appear on the surface of the wooden base, causing stickiness. It can be removed by wiping with alcohol.

Fabric Characteristics

• Due to the characteristics of the fabric, inserting thick needles may leave visible holes.

Leather Tag

• The leather tag may stretch or shrink slightly due to the characteristics of genuine leather.
• Contact with water or perspiration may cause color fading, color transfer, or stains.

Needle Handling & Safety

• Take care not to insert needles too deeply, as they may become buried inside the pincushion and be difficult to remove.
• Keep out of reach of infants and young children.
