The bright yellow color of yellow narcissus blooming in early spring. Just looking at them, the color makes our hearts flutter and light up with joy.
Yellow narcissus was introduced to Japan during the Edo period (1603-1867) and began to be cultivated as an ornamental plant for its beautiful color and appearance.
Since they bloom in early spring, these flowers represent “new beginnings” and “rebirth,” and are considered as a symbol of love and hope. If you see yellow narcissus in spring, it may be a sign of good luck.
Narcissus flowers are called "Suisen" in Japanese, which means "a hermit on waterside."
That's because they prefer waterside locations, appear in the same place every year, making its presence seem as eternal as that of a hermit. It is also because of the way it stands upright with its head slightly downcast like a hermit.
